Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies according to its rarity and.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be done through many different methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items are available in the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others provide an overall bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any equipment, and offer less than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide numerous benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't have enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced through a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.
Many weapons can be improved by a prefix like a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by certain amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount by the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the product you are enchanting it to.
The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If additional resources do have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.
When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking many hits from their enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will alter the layout of the item's window and let up to six items to be selected for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it will reduce the total ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls used to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on rings and Diadems, as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items that allows players to modify their builds without a lot of time and effort. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. They plan to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. item upgrades is to increase the amount of upgrade, which increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for a stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also chances for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so should you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type, it could get an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, though. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
The iLevel can also change in accordance with the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
